Spinchees rolls

Spinchees – Spinach and cottage cheese deep fried golden brown rolls is the perfect starter and snack for party.

Preparation time – approx 40 – 45 minutes


  • 1 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 2 cups spinach, chopped
  • 2 cubes cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp Maida (All purpose flour)
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp Amchur (Dry Mango) powder
  • 2-3 green chilli, crushed
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • ¼ tsp pepper powder (optional)
  • ½ garam masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying



  • In a bowl, mix all the above ingredients except oil and batter mixture.
  • If the mixture is wet and sticky after mixing, add more bread crumbs to it and mix well.
  • Apply some oil on your palms and divide the mixture into equal portions.
  • Roll the portion in your palms and make it into a cylindrical shape.
  • Mix Maida and water to make batter in the bowl and set aside.
  • Dip each cylindrically shaped portion in the batter and coat them evenly.
  • Apply bread crumbs evenly on the coated batter.
  • Heat the oil for deep frying on medium flame.
  • Gently slide the rolls into the oil and deep fry from all the sides till golden brown and crisp.
  • Remove and transfer it to an absorbent paper to remove the excess oil from it.
  • Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
